Boro residents witness impromptu firework ‘display’

Residents neighbouring Parliament Road Park in Middlesbrough were given a sharp jolt at around 22:30 this evening as fireworks unexpectedly lit the night sky.

The ‘display’ which could be seen and heard from a sizeable radius lasted for approximately 5 minutes, leaving plumes of smoke on Linthrope Road.

Upon investigation, the fireworks were courtesy of 5 youthful looking individuals, two males and three females, who when question explained they were “celebrating someones birthday”.

Although no obvious harm was caused by events, concerns would be that fireworks of this industrial nature were available to non-professionals.

A passing resident, who was out walking and appeared a little startled from events commented “I didn’t expect that!”
